On January 17, the 53-year-old reality TV star and his wife Julie Chrisley reported to their prison locations after being convicted of federal tax fraud, a representative confirmed to E! News.

The outlet shared that Todd was sent to Federal Correctional Institution (FPI) Pensacola in Florida, a minimum security facility. Meanwhile, his 50-year-old wife was sent to Federal Medical Center Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky.

Before the Chrisley Knows Best stars began their prison sentences, the real estate mogul left his fans on social media with a final post before his check-in time.

According to People, Todd shared a video on Monday night (January 16) – which has now been deleted – of gospel artist Karen Peck singing ‘Four Days Late’.

The Christian song’s lyrics include: “Lord, we don’t understand why You’ve waited so long, But His way is God’s way, not yours or mine, And isn’t it great, when He’s four days late, He’s still on time.”

The publication reported that the TV star captioned the musical video: “HE is always on time,” and added the hashtag #fightthegoodfight.

Julie on the other hand did not share any posts on Instagram ahead of her prison term. However, earlier this month on the Chrisley Confessions podcast, she opened up about what life will be like when she and her husband are separated in prison.

While discussing Emmy Medders’ mother’s care for her father during his ALS diagnosis, Julie emotionally said: “There is that possibility of my husband and I being separated, but there’s a difference between my husband and I being separated for a period of time and having to say goodbye forever.

“So, it almost makes me feel ashamed that I’m worried. She’s going to have to say goodbye to her husband and she won’t see him again on this side of heaven. So, I think it puts things into perspective. I know it puts things into perspective for me. We all think our hard is the hardest thing,” she added.

The couple first pleaded not guilty to 12 counts, including wire fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud. However, in June last year, they were found guilty by an Atlanta federal jury on all counts.

In November, they were officially sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for their bank fraud and tax evasion convictions. Todd will spend 12 years behind bars, while Julie will serve seven years.

According to Insider, the prosecutors found out that the couple used loans to live a lifestyle they couldn’t afford while also concealing the money from the IRS to evade paying taxes.

“The jury’s unanimous verdict sets the record straight: Todd and Julie Chrisley are career swindlers who have made a living by jumping from one fraud scheme to another, lying to banks, stiffing vendors, and evading taxes at every corner,” the prosecutors said in a sentencing memo, per the outlet.

The reality TV stars – who were also each sentenced to 16 months probation – will now go to prison exactly one week after their motion for bail pending their appeal was rejected. They had requested to prolong their surrender date by 21 days, per ET Online.

In addition to this, they are still in the process of petitioning their convictions and claim that the sentencing was unjust. In a statement to People, their attorney Alex Little of Burr & Forman LLP contended that the trial “was marred by serious and repeated errors”.

Due to their sentencing, the Chrisleys’ show – which followed the day-to-day lives of their large family – was initially renewed for a 10th season, however, the series and its spinoff show – Growing Up Chrisley – have now been canceled, per Deadline.
